What is done with the information collected?

All the records are kept on computer (and backed up). In addition, a print-out of each inscription is kept in a file, together with a detailed form on paper, on which can be recorded all information about a memorial, such as who designed and made it, when it was erected, with what ceremony, if any, and if it has been moved from its original site.

The archive of this information, and all the computer records, will eventually be passed on to the Military History Department of the National Museum of Ireland, and it is hoped that the collection of records will continue under their supervision.
