A new branch of the Western Front Association (WFA) is to be set up. There will be a meeting to put this into effect in the National Museum at Collins Barracks, Dublin 8, on Saturday, 25th February, at 2.00pm. It is hoped that there will a speaker on an appropriate topic as well as the business of founding the branch. While all are welcome to attend, only those who are paid-up members of the WFA will be eligible to vote for officers of the branch: initially, a president, secretary and treasurer. Although affiliated to the WFA, which is based in the U.K., the branch will be independent in financial matters. The WFA is concerned with all aspects of the Great War, despite its name. A branch has already been set up in Cork, and there may be one in Belfast soon, too. For further information, contact Ian Chambers: ian1914(at)eircom.net [put @ instead of (at)].
